As part of GO!Durbans initiative to provide a more efficient, safer and faster public transport service for the citizens of our city, the eThekwini Municipality is currently constructing a section of the Integrated Rapid Public Transport Network (IRPTN) through Pinetown and New Germany. This requires that from Monday, 26 January 2015, Northbound and Southbound traffic on Qashana Khuzwayo Road (Shepstone Road) will be diverted along Blasé, Chelsea Avenue and Escom Roads. Access to the shops and businesses on Qashana Khuzwayo will be from Regent Street.
This deviation was originally scheduled to take place on Monday, 19 January 2015 but was postponed and will now take place on Monday, 26 January 2015.
It is anticipated that the detour will be in operation for approximately 3 months.
